Alas poor mylo, we knew him well

Around 5 today, I felt like complete shit.  Like every bit of energy was drained.  My ear hurt from the beach last sunday, and the only thing that sounded worthwhile was to come home curl up on the couch and die.

Or watch House and feel all hypochondriac.

Before that happened I did manage to pick up my roll of 120 from the holga.

I figured I need a faster film.  But the light leaks are pretty minimal, if there is a faster film will reveal them anyway.

I got three that are presentable.  I’ll post anymore that come up.

So as I was at lollapalooza I realized something was missing.

A camera.

Although I knew I forgot my digital at home there was something else really, something that  I needed it had a name that bubbled out of my lips, harshly like screaming the name of an evil step-sister in a orgasm.

Holga

I don’t know why, but I felt empty.  I even looked over to miss brit and told her that’s what I wanted for my bday.

It was bothering me all day, and eventually I broke.  I marched over to Urban Outfitters across the street from my office, walked up the steps and found me the holga.  There was one left so I snatched it and rang it up.  I spent the rest of the day playing around with it making sure I understood it.

Although it’s a little different from the ones I remembered, I decided to take it anyway.  It has some pretty cool extra features like a tripod nut, and the flash changes color.

It came with a neat book on things to do with it, and a roll of film.

So I have a new toy to play with for the time being, I need something to make my mind agile again.

Today there were only two bands we were dying to see.

The Fratellis (her request), they were good. I felt bad because they were the first ones up though, and that’s always never good. But still I liked them.

And the Polyphonic Spree. Who I love live. Again they pulled off an excellent fun show. Jess liked their music, but hated the perfomance “They were so pretentious, I wanted to hit the flute player.”

Still can’t win ‘em all.  But…  they played a cover of lithium by nirvana and it was great when the entire crowd was jumping up and down and singing along.
We did catch Son Volt, who were pretty good and Electric Six. Me and her both remembered the name but we forgot from where or what. Then they broke into gay bar which is a really fun as hell song. So we were happy. We spent the day scouting the area, and now we’re going out to eat.

Tomorrow is Regina Spektor, I’m from Barcelona, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Cold War Kids, Muse, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Bizarro New York is awesome!

ok in a quick list

  1. There is a starbucks on the corner
  2. There is a bar right downstairs
  3. The hotel is not gay and neither is the bar
  4. There is a 7-11 on the other corner
  5. The 7-11 stocks supersized frappachinos
  6. cigarettes are cheaper
  7. And finally the best most awesome thing of all… THEY ARE FILMING BATMAN DOWN THE STREET!!!!!!

Oh yeah Miss Brit wanted to make mention that there is a bookstore near the hotel as well.

Well kids I’m off for a couple of days to fulfill another teenage wish of mine.

Don’t forget to pick up after yourselves, and refill the coffee pot.
